The concept of centralized and localized management in an infrastructure management system can be characterized by a Master Console and remote consoles relationship. The Master Console provides an overall view and control over the entire infrastructure, and in turn supports segregated remote consoles located across sites and geographic areas that also provide individual users with access and view of their own local networks.

This means that while the Master Console allows the system administrator to see a bird's-eye view of the infrastructure resources and drill down to specifics of remote network devices, the local network administrators have the ability to monitor and manage only their own resources.

In MAX this setup can be accomplished by deploying one MAX as the Master Console at the headquarters, and a MAXOnsite system at each of the managed sites.

MAX Infrastructure Management Suite empowers individual users to autonomously monitor and manage their own resources in their own local sites—with the administrator having a full view of the infrastructure from a central console at the company headquarters, for example. This provides users with a sense of accountability and control over their resources, and the administrator with overall control and infrastructure-wide transparency.
