MVL Prasad: Technology Advisory Board

Prasad has a very distinguished career as a technologist and entreprenuer. He is currently Principal of ARTEXS, a technology/management consulting company specialized in multimedia messaging.

Prasad's broad background in management, engineering, strategic marketing, and business development led him to a number of successful entrepreneurial ventures. Prior to forming ARTEXS, Prasad served as Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategy at JP Mobile Inc., where he raised $45-million in venture funding, and helped the company grow from 20 to 120 people.

Prasad was founding member of Pipelinks, a Silicon Valley startup in optical networking products, which was subsequently acquired by Cisco. He was marketing consultant for Stratum One, an optical networking company that was acquired also by Cisco. He provided business development consulting in strategy, marketing and general management with several Silicon Valley telecom and networking technology startups, and currently serves as adviser to several technology companies and venture capital firms.

Prasad has also worked as management consultant for Deloitte Consulting. He started his career at Indian Space Research Organization (Government of India), where he was involved in the country's first communications satellite launch vehicle (SLV3) development and launch, under Dr APJ Kalam (current president of India).

He holds a BSEE (Electronics and Communications Engineering) and MSIE degrees (Industrial Engineering and Management) from Oklahoma State University. He underwent several academic and on-the-job training courses in various areas of technology, management, finance and accounting, negotiations, sales, marketing, and corporate strategy.

He is a frequent speaker at several networking conferences, including CTIA Wireless Show 2000/2001, TiECON Dallas 2000/2001, Silicon India Forum 2000, Networld-InterOp 1993/1995, and CeBIT 1993, among others. Prasad received several merits including three ACE awards (NET), and the JP Mobile Fellow Award.

Prasad is a member of the Board of Driectors for the Greater Dallas Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (http://www.gdiacc.org), leading the charge for the High Technology and Entrepreneurship Council, and an active Charter MEmber of TiE-DFW (http://tie-dfw.org).
